COVID-19 Screenings & Temperature Readings For All Patients

First and foremost, we are doing our best to avoid treating individuals who may have contracted COVID-19 coronavirus, and this starts with comprehensive patient screenings. Before you come in for an appointment, we may need to ask you questions about:

  • Travel in the last 14 days, particularly in high-risk areas

  • Whether or not you have been around someone who has contracted COVID-19

  • Symptoms you may be experiencing, such as a dry cough, fever, or shortness of breath

In addition, all patients will be checked with a non-contact infrared thermometer to ensure that their body temperature is within a normal range.

Individuals with elevated body temperatures may be asked to reschedule their appointments for at least 14 days in the future.

Mobile Patient Check-In & Social Distancing

We have implemented a mobile check-in system, which means you don’t have to spend as much time in your waiting area. You can even check in from your car to further minimize the time you spend around others.

Closed-Door Operatories & H13 HEPA Filtration Systems

All of our operatories now can be closed, and we’ve added H13 HEPA filtration systems to each room. These filtration systems exceed the highest medical standards, and trap 99.95% of all particles that are larger than 0.1 microns in diameter. This ensures that aerosolized particles that could contain viruses are contained and destroyed.

PPE & In-Office Laundry Service

We use N95 masks, face shields, and other CDC-approved PPE, and our in-office laundry service ensures that our team members can always wear fresh scrubs and clothing when seeing each individual patient.

Enhanced Disinfection Of Common Areas & Regularly-Used Surfaces

Our team is now regularly cleaning and disinfecting door knobs, countertops, and other surfaces that are frequently touched by both patients and team members, ensuring that these surfaces are free of any potential contamination.

Designated Appointment Times For Seniors & High-Risk Patients

We understand that seniors, immunocompromised individuals, and patients with respiratory issues are all at a higher risk of serious complications from COVID-19, so we are offering designated appointment times that will minimize contact with others, and ensure you can get the dental care you need without risking your health.

Come To Harbor Family Dental For The Dental Care You Need

Beyond all of the above changes, we’re also following health and safety protocols that we always have at Harbor Family Dental, including medical-grade disinfection of all operatories and tools and universal infection control best practices.

So if you need dental care in San Diego, our team is here to help. Contact us online or give us a call at (619) 786-2939 to schedule a consultation with Dr. Ryan Wallrich.
